Sourav De Biswas is the founder of DB Legal Consultants and has practised corporate law since 2005. His work focuses on general corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, business and asset transfers, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital, foreign investment, corporate governance and commercial contracts.
Before founding DB Legal in July 2022, Sourav worked for more than fourteen years with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. He was a partner in the General Corporate practice for seven years and advised Indian and international clients on corporate transactions, investments, securities laws and ongoing business matters.
Sourav has also worked as in-house legal counsel with Reliance Communications and Avaya GlobalConnect and served in senior legal leadership roles with OYO Group, including as Deputy General Counsel and Vice President - Legal. His law-firm and in-house experience enables him to consider both the legal structure of a matter and the manner in which legal decisions affect business operations.

Sourav advises overseas businesses and counsel on Indian corporate law requirements and assists Indian groups with the Indian-law aspects of outbound transactions. His experience includes coordinating multi-jurisdictional transactions with foreign counsel and aligning Indian transaction documents, regulatory conditions and closing steps with the wider deal process.
